The MetroHealth Foundation is the nonprofit organization that supports the Cleveland-based MetroHealth system. The foundation’s funding priorities are focused on health equity, behavioral health, rehabilitation and programs that support basic patient needs.
MetroHealth comprises four hospitals, 20 health centers and 700 physicians. The health system is committed to providing care for all people in the Cuyahoga County region, regardless of their ability to pay.
Schauer will have a three-year term on The MetroHealth Foundation board.
“MetroHealth plays a critical role in our community both by providing high quality health care services and by working to address social drivers of health,” Schauer said. “I’m thrilled to help further MetroHealth’s mission of improving the foundations of community health and wellbeing through my service on the Foundation board.”
Schauer heads Schauer Group’s employee benefits division, where he focuses on designing benefits solutions that both meet company needs and help control long-term costs. In addition to his board position with The MetroHealth Foundation, he also serves as co-chair of the Associate Board of Shoes & Clothes for Kids.
