Schauer Group, the region’s innovative risk management, business insurance, and human capital services firm, is continuing the celebration of more than 100 years in business by again hosting the Century of Service Nonprofit Donation program in 2021.
The Century of Service program is designed to provide nonprofits who are physically located in or offer services in the greater Cleveland metro area the opportunity to apply, and if selected as a finalist, compete for an awards package that includes a donation of 100 service hours from Schauer Group associates and a one-time cash donation of $5,000.
“Commitment to strengthening the communities where we live and work is at the very foundation of our organization. After 102 years of community involvement, we have become invested in the region,” said Bryan Schauer, executive vice president and Cleveland market leader for Schauer Group. “The Century of Service program connected us with exceptional nonprofits in 2019 and we are excited to continue that tradition of discovering the needs of the community and helping to fill them this year.”
Eligible 501(c)3 organizations can learn more and apply by visiting SchauerGroup.com/service between Tuesday, June 1 and Friday, June 25. Applications will be reviewed by a panel of Schauer Group associates, and finalists will be selected based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to: quality of application, demonstration of need, and alignment with Schauer Group company core values. There are no eligibility limitations based on the category or mission of the nonprofit, with the exception of politically-focused organizations.
Once finalists are announced on June 30, Schauer Group will open up a voting portal online at SchauerGroup.com/vote, and finalists will be encouraged to promote voting to their constituents and supporters starting Friday, July 2.
Voting will take place from July 2-16. Voting will be open to the community at large, including any employees, board members, or clients of the competing organizations. Individuals may cast one single vote each day during the voting window. The finalist organization that receives the most votes when voting concludes on Friday, July 16, will receive the Century of Service donation from Schauer Group. The winner of the Century of Service Award—receiving 100 service hours and a $5,000 donation—will be announced on Monday, July 19.
