Schauer Group’s ‘Century of Service’ gives 100 hours, $5,000 to The Family Resource Center of Wickliffe

CLEVELAND, OH  — Associates from Schauer Group, the region’s innovative risk management, business insurance, and human capital services firm, recently completed 100 volunteer hours at The Family Resource Center of Wickliffe as part of the company’s annual Century of Service Nonprofit Award program.

The Family Resource Center of Wickliffe was the winner of Schauer Group’s 2022 Century of Service Nonprofit Award program, which annually awards a $5,000 grant and 100 service hours to a nonprofit in the Cleveland area.

“Our Schauer Group volunteer teams enjoyed learning more about The Family Resource Center of Wickliffe and were so impressed by the work being done every day to improve outcomes for students and families,” said Bryan Schauer, Schauer Group executive vice president & Cleveland market leader. “We’re grateful for our partnership with the center and to be able to support them in meeting such a critical need in our Northeast Ohio community.”

The center, operated by the Wickliffe City School District, offers an array of services that promote the economic, academic, physical, social, and emotional needs of students and families across Northeast Ohio. Through collaborative work with other agencies and businesses, the Family Resource Center of Wickliffe provides support that includes addiction recovery and mental health counseling; The Women, Infants and Children nutrition education program; and the student-led, donation-based WicKloset, where families can get the food, clothing, and toiletries they need at no cost to them.

“We have been so fortunate to have the opportunity to partner with Schauer Group, a local business that truly upholds the core values of service and community,” said Leah Reese, service coordinator for the Family Resource Center of Wickliffe. “Schauer Group associates arrived prepared and ready to get the job done! They helped The Family Resource Center of Wickliffe, and more specifically, the WicKloset Program, accomplish several weeks’ worth of work in just a few hours. Sorting through mounds of clothing is no small feat! We cannot thank them enough for their time, hard work, and generosity.”

Now in its third year, the Century of Service Nonprofit Award program is a celebration of Schauer Group’s more than 100 years of giving back to the community and is designed to support organizations that align with the firm’s values of advancement, integrity, independence, and commitment.
